Teaching & Performance Excellence
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have worked with more than 1,000 students in private and group settings, from beginners to advanced players. My approach is to meet you where you are in your musical and technical development, providing the guidance and support you need to achieve your goals while deepening your enjoyment and fulfillment of your musical journey.
As a faculty member at Georgia State University and Emory University, I played a pivotal role in expanding and elevating guitar programs by developing curriculum across multiple degree paths as well as creating the Master of Music in Classical Guitar at GSU. My students have gone on to earn university teaching positions, assistantships, and competition recognition, which has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. it would be my honor to pass this expertise on to you.
Beyond teaching, I am an active performer, having played in solo and ensemble settings across the U.S., South American and Europe. My performance experience allows me to mentor students in developing confidence, expression, and technical precision for their own musical journeys.
Whether you’re looking to refine your technique, expand your fretboard knowledge, or explore diverse musical styles, I am committed to providing the guidance and support you need to reach the next level.

Student Testimonials:
Dr. Enloe is a fantastic teacher, and I’ve made a lot of progress in the past few months. He has a great eye for detail and helped me correct several long-standing habits in my technique. As an engineering student who plays for the love of it, I especially appreciate how he explains the musical purpose behind each exercise and etudes, making music easy to understand. He is particularly encouraging and supportive when I get stuck on a difficult piece. I feel like my playing is more confident and enjoyable than ever before, and I truly recommend him!
Qizhi Lu
Dr. Enloe is a wonderful instructor who has mastered not only performance but also how to teach. He can tailor the particular instruction out of his expertise and experience in guitar: he knows how to set ground for beginners (just like me), implementing good habits from the onset; for those that are more advanced and having specific genre/pieces in mind, he also knows how to approach these step by step. I am glad that Dr. Enloe is my first music teacher, from him I’ve learnt more than how to play guitar. I recommend his class to all people who want to make music, especially guitar, part of their life.
Again, thank you so much and it’s been a pleasure to study music with you.
Best,
Weiyang
Dr. Enloe is a knowledgeable teacher who helped me recognize and fix a lot of bad habits in the foundation of my playing. His focus on proper technique and consistent practice gave me a chance to rebuild my foundation and better understand how to approach the instrument the right way.
Valentino Johnson
Professor Enloe was an amazing teacher. He teaches at a very comfortable pace and is very easy to understand. I came in with the intent to learn classical guitar and along the way he has awakened an interest of jazz guitar in me. After being his student, I’ve realized a lot of important fundamentals I’ve brushed over had started to connect. I am seeing the fretboard through a new lens and I’m finally picking up my nylon string guitar more often. Overall, it was an eye opening experience.

Dear Professor Enloe,
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful semester you’ve been able to give me. You were extremely helpful and easy to talk to about any of my guitar questions. You made learning an instrument an easy and streamlined experience in which people with no prior knowledge, of any kind, could play multiple pieces of music. My time with you have been very pleasant from the beginning of my time with you till the very end. I hope the best for you and your endeavors!

Thayer Naples – 2023 MM in Guitar Performance at GSU
Thayer came into the GSU Guitar Studio in the fall of 2019 as my Graduate assistant. Previous to his time at GSU, he was a graduate of the Berklee College Music and an adept specialist in Chet Atkins style thumb picking. However, while he had a tremendous amount of musical development, he had very little experience playing classical guitar. In the two years that Thayer studied with me, we both put in a lot of work to develop his classical guitar playing to a high level. Here are two selections from his solo MM Recital:
Thayer Naples – Las Abejas by Agustín Barrios
Thayer Naples – Capriccio Diabolico By Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco

Each Semester, the GSU Guitar Ensemble presents a concert. Here’s a highlight from Fall 2021 featuring my students Ricky Menendez, Thayer Naples (featured soloist), Albert Torres, Samuel Wilson
