Private lessons are available in classical and fingerstyle guitar, with additional instruction in fretboard harmony, technique, soloing, and related musical styles on classical, acoustic, and electric guitar.
Lessons are offered in person in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and online through Zoom.

Instruction for Beginning Through Advanced Students
I have more than 25 years of teaching experience and have worked with more than 1,000 students in private and group settings, from beginners to advanced players.
My approach is to meet students where they are in their musical and technical development, provide clear guidance, and help them continue progressing while deepening their enjoyment of the guitar.

Lessons can address technical problems, long-standing habits, musical interpretation, repertoire, fretboard knowledge, and the connection between exercises and the music students want to play.

Although classical guitar is central to my teaching, lessons may also explore fingerstyle guitar, fretboard harmony, soloing, jazz, and other musical styles when they support the student’s interests and development.

At the conclusion of each lesson, I send a customized practice outline summarizing what we covered and what to work on next.

When helpful, I provide instructional videos tailored to the student’s needs.
Questions Between Lessons
Students may send a photograph or short video if they have a question or are unsure whether they are playing something correctly.
Teaching and Performance Experience
As a faculty member at Georgia State University and Emory University, I helped expand guitar programs, developed curriculum across multiple degree paths, and created the Master of Music in Classical Guitar at Georgia State University.
My students have earned university teaching positions, assistantships, and competition recognition.
I am also an active performer and have appeared in solo and ensemble settings throughout the United States, South America, and Europe. This experience informs my teaching of technique, expression, preparation, and performance.
